Poems for a Beautiful Lady | |||||||

I’m not very good at writing poetry… my art is in the breeding of plants.
But I have found some poetry for you, my beautiful one. I will post one every day, and I will wait with bated breath for your reply.
Today: A poem by Oscar Wilde . La Bella Donna Della Mia Mente . My limbs are wasted with a flame, My feet are sore with travelling, For, calling on my Lady’s name, My lips have now forgot to sing. . O Linnet in the wild-rose brake Strain for my Love thy melody, O Lark sing louder for love’s sake, My gentle Lady pbumeth by. . She is too fair for any man To see or hold his heart’s delight, Fairer than Queen or courtesan Or moonlit water in the night. . Her hair is bound with myrtle leaves, (Green leaves upon her golden hair!) Green grbumes through the yellow sheaves Of autumn corn are not more fair. . Her little lips, more made to kiss Than to cry bitterly for pain, Are tremulous as brook-water is, Or roses after evening rain. . Her neck is like white melilote Flushing for pleasure of the sun, The throbbing of the linnet’s throat Is not so sweet to look upon. . As a pomegranate, cut in twain, White-seeded, is her crimson mouth, Her cheeks are as the fading stain Where the peach reddens to the south. . O twining hands! O delicate White body made for love and pain! O House of love! O desolate Pale flower beaten by the rain! amaranthus edited this message on 08/10/2008 6:12PMLog in to see images! |

I didn’t expect you to understand, and I don’t really care. I’m used to being misunderstood… I just hope she will read this.

So, I had this idea. It came to me while I was burning all the little outfits my mom has for her dog.
If you really have your heart set on this…Belladonna person, she’s not going to want a guy who’s so inexperienced.
So I’ve decided, as a friend, to give you lessons. We’ll start with kissing. I mean, you don’t want her to think you’ve never kissed a girl, right? Log in to see images! |

Umm… I- I don’t know… I mean, what if she sees us and gets the wrong idea?
I- I just think… Well, I don’t think she’s superficial like that. That’s what I like about her; she’s respectful and non-judgemental. I can see in her eyes that she’s a good person, that she will understand that I’ve been too… too busy to “play the field” and all that.
But… well, thanks. You know, for thinking of me. And, um, offering to help. Log in to see images! |

Yeah, well what if she gets poison ivy?
I mean, sure, yeah, whatever. Girl like her, I’m sure she won’t be put off by a kid who can’t even kiss. It’s not like she’s got hundreds of other guys to compare you to.
Best of luck. I’m sure your plant poems will be enough. Log in to see images! |

J-Janie, are you sure you’re alright? I mean, you’ve been so… tense these last couple of days. Please have a cup of this hyssop tea. It always works for me when I’m stressed out.

Another poem; this one by Becki Newell.
Bella Donna . Standing and just staring, black beads for eyes and dressed in emerald silk. . I fear her. This woman of beauty his bella donna. . Standing and just staring, but despite her inanimate stance, she poisons. . her beaded droplets of woven fabric, good enough to eat… but ingestion penetrates. . I fear her… yet I revere her. How she stands through flood and lightning strike! Bracing. . I revere her when poison turns to elixir. When her face from drained turns rosy, . her expression from bleak fatalism to benevolence. . She heals. And I have learnt to love the fear of her stark omnipotence, her presence through all things. . For every one thing she takes she gives back another. As the moon casts her shadow when she stands beneath her deadly nightshade. Log in to see images! |
