[Harem and Sushi Bar]

Level 10 Camwhore

You should listen to the groovy trip-hop in my sig

Recently while dining with a few close friends, someone brought up the internet and one thing lead to another (sadly not sex). My cousin Dakota, jokingly at first, said “imagine if someone printed out the internet. Man, that would be impossible, though.” I have an awful sense of humor, so I replied with both a very serious tone and look, “I don’t think it’s impossible. In fact, how much do you wanna bet I can print it out in about a few months?” We all shared a laugh but soon after much discussion, I decided I really wanted to try it as a bet. He took me up on my offer, so now I have about six months to print out the entire internet. The prize? $50, but we’d always argue which is better; the North (where he’s from) or the South (where I’m from). So I’ll rub that in his face too, I suppose.

Right now I have the most popular websites knocked out. All top search engines, reference sites (Wikipedia and such), and most popular forums printed out and in stacks in a separate room. I’ve also gotten people from around the town to help me out. So far I have spent well over 50 dollars and probably more than 500 trees on paper, but once I’m finished I’m sure I’ll make news somewhere.

If you want to help, please post any websites you know of for me to print. I have a list saved on my computer of each one I’ve printed so far and will be adding on constantly due to the nearly limitless size of the internet. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I will be sure to note everyone that will help by posting in this thread on the first page of the final stack when I’m done, whenever that will be.Log in to see images!

Wish me luck!

You need to print the clbumics such as:

– goatse

– tubgirl

– lemonparty

– meatspin

etc.

You should also print out Flamebate and the entirety of Forumwarz – represent! Then you should begin to tackle news websites and their archives.

Haha. I have all the memes printed out, they were my first ones before I started on real websites.

I’ll start a new character and begin printing the pages soon once I knock out the ones Fran sent.

I really hope that this is a joke.

It’s Ayn Rands. The only jokes here aren’t funny and are about cancer.

So either help with some websites or go back to RP. Log in to see images!

Knock out millions of small websites by naming big hosting cites, like Geocities, Monster, and other names that you can easily Google.

Or just print out Google and call it a day.

These are gonna be my biggest time consumer. Currently I got 0-9 and A-C on Lyrics.com but it felt like it would never end. I’m putting them off til later on- probably last things I do. Maybe get someone else to do it if it gets to me.

Big forums. World of Warcraft (USA and Europe) and other MMO’s. Something Awful. Hell, even 4chan.org.

Have WoW, AoC, Call of Duty, and plenty other online games bookmarked for future printing. Also going to add consoles and hopefully all of their popular games soon. I’m gonna try to get a huge list of gaming sites and knock them all out in one go.

SA and 4chan are going to be my favorites to print though, by far.

4chan is going to be difficult, since it is constantly updating and always deleting the old threads. You’d have to be on it ever second of the day to capture every last post.

Well I see it as just printing whatever is there as I visit it at that moment. As you said, it’s just going to be deleted anyway, but the real point is to print every page of every subsection there at least once. It may be a bet to print the internet, but even my cousin and I have limits.

Is this the entire internet at a certain point in time? Cos you can print out an entire large forum, but it’ll have a whole bunch of new content added moments later. And what about livejournel-esque sites? Webcomics? These are huge communities that keep having new content added every day.

Frankly I’m impressed that you’ve managed even wikipedia… and I don’t think this is possible. There’s not enough paper in the world. Good luck though!

Me and three people took out Wikipedia in a somewhat lengthy amount of time. It’s impossible to print out every single thing everywhere, but we just want to get a majority of a website. Every link you can click on, every page you can go to, etc. For LJ and other things like that, I’m gonna have (hopefully) one person for each character of the alphabet printing out the lists of profiles. One person prints all the As, another prints Bs, etc. I’m paying for the ink and paper, so all I asked of the locals here was for their time and commitment.

Some websites may be just too plain expansive and I may have to cut out some parts, but it’s understandable to everyone, I hope. Ever-growing things are impossible to keep track of even with the decent amount of people I have aiding me.
