I am depressed : : I need to accept this. However, this doesn’t make me a bad person. Even though it’s hard to motivate myself because all I see is darkness, I know I can get through this.

I am not a horrible person : : I just feel like that. It is a symptom of my depression that makes me believe that, and I should keep an eye out for positive experiences that combat this unrealistic belief.

I am not an outcast : : neither does everyone hate me. Because of my condition, I have the tendency to be pessimistic, yet I know that there are people who care about me more than I do.

I am in love : : But he does not control me.

I am not a cutter : : Yet at times I have been unable to cope with the pain and grief that I feel, turning it into agression against myself. I should find better ways to deal with it, yet the mistakes I made are in the past.

I am not a mistake : : I’m loved, even though it’s hard for me to see.

I have suicidal tendencies : : But I know I will find the strength to fight them. Because I’m worth it.
