believe it or not, i am a real internet troll

Hi. Seeing as how there are many suggestions all over the place, I felt like condensing all of my favorite ones into a short summary. Note: these are mostly ideas for trolls, but whatev.

Attack/Battle ideas:

The lack of status attacks is odd for a good RPG. Some have mentioned ideas of a sort of poisoning attack, etc. These are what I feel to be some good options.

The idea of an attack where the player submits a post in an attempt to spread a meme is pretty cool. I feel that such an attack would act as a quasi-poison ailment on the thread. You deploy the attack, and, perhaps based on your luck stat or cred level, there is a probability of members of the current thread reposting it and adding lolsy comments. These reposts could replace the standard thread attack when the meme is succesfully deployed. Each time a meme you started is reposted, it would inflict a certain amount of pwn damage to the thread, as it is in teh spirit of derailing the topic at hand. I don’t want to get into any numbers here, as most of these suggestions die in the OVERPOWERED sect0rx.

Now, as a counter-balance to this thread poisoning, higher-level threads could use their admins/mods to deploy a posion attack upon the player. This happens in the form of having the player’s avatar on the thread changed to something gay/embarbuming/etc. Lasting for a certain number of rounds (not getting into numb4z), everytime the player posts in the thread, they suffer an ego hit. Or, instead of suffering ego damage, the player suffers a defense drop for the length of time the new avatar is in effect, as the player is now much easier to ridicule.

I like the idea of an attack where the player posts a link to some website. For a troll, this would be something like a rickrol or 2girls1cup link, as examples. By deploying this attack, the player is free from a counter-attack from that post, as the thread-goers are intrigued by the link and venture forth. With or without the grace-period idea, by having lured someone to that link, the thread’s next attack/whatever against the player consists of a disgusted/annoyed reaction to the link, which could either boost the player’s ego, lower the thread’s defense (as the link victim is out of commission), or just deal damage to the thread.

I propose a hacker attack that acts similarly to the meme/poison attack. This consists of hacking an enemy poster’s profile and adding an embarbuming or distracting signature to that enemy’s posts. So, every time that enemy insults the player, the thread suffers damage for however long the attack works. Or, in a similar vein, the hacker could chnge the avatar of a random enemy poster, or the default fonts of an enemy’s post, both of which could result in a poison-liek status.

It still stands that the Troll deserves the ability to post shock pics in a thread. But i feel this should include having to find out if the forum supports html, and to what degree. Low-secuirty forums would be prime for shock-dumping, as the allow the <img></img> tags useable. But older forums that have been ‘round the block will have stopped the use of most html, and so these attacks would be worthless. This could include some strategic/luck-based gameplay elements, and even a mini-game to find great shock pics/sites/vids/whatever.

Moving on…

Bosses:

I like the idea of bosses, and i feel they should be played out as such: enemies lurking in the last thread of certain forums, which have stronger attacks, yet also consume items, fap, etc. just like a player-character. Defeating bosses could result in the bosses themselves befriending you and offering you missions or items, or popping up elswhere…

I propose 6 new forums. A troll one, an emo kid one, a re-re one, etc. These could be voluntarily joined by players of the respective clbumes, and could operate as sort of minigames, where, say, a h4xx0r attacks the cm-whore thread, and cam-whores can volunteer to be the “enemies” of the thread, against the h4xt0rzx. Or, a player is contracted in-game to raid one of these forums, ending up in boss-battles that can yield friendships/training oppurtunities with other clbumes.

Some other small game-dynamics i wish were address: There should be a raise in how many enemies, thread titles, typical posts, etc are allowed for forums in forumbuildr. If a forum can have max 10 threads, say, there should be at least 13-14 chosen thread-titles, to really add depth to the randomness. It gets boring pwning thread after thread obviously built upon the randomization of one successful vote-grabbing idea. But this suggestion is minor nd purely aesthetic.

Regardless, the idea of the poison attacks could yield some good contests for players to manufacture new fake memes, avatars, and signatures.
