Somehow I got into the top bracket without too much effortWell, no. I bought a card at the end to get rid of scoops rather than use one of the 13 mods I had left over. DOMINATION THEME WEEK: July 23Expecting the rest of the community to raid isn’t the answer here. It never has been. Isn’t this a pretty typical game mechanic, though, where you can play by yourself, but to be really competitive, you have to join a clan and do some sort of group gaming activity? But if you’re not going to have a large and increasing user base, I can see that it would probably be better just to have solo playing so that things don’t become unbalanced too easily. (view post) |

DOMINATION THEME WEEK: July 23Raiding is the only truly cooperative, multiplayer aspect of the game. It makes your klan more of social unit and prevents the klan from just being a forum that a bunch of disconnected players check in to once in a great while. If all these solo players would form klans, they would get the same rewards as well. And no, I am not saying that there should be players or klans that are able to dominate week after week. But I don’t think the answer is to basically make the game single-player. Raiding doesn’t sound like a world of fun. I’m going to guess that it’s a lot more fun than grinding for cred or flezz, which people seem to be able to cowboy up and do what they have to do if they want to be competitive there. I don’t think it would be much fun, so I don’t do it, but neither do I expect to somehow find my way to the top of those leaderboards just playing the way I want to. (view post) |

DOMINATION THEME WEEK: July 23If raiding only gave you a slight competitive edge, even fewer people would do it. It’s just too exhausting and takes too much time. There is a definite point at which the opportunity cost is going to outweigh the reward. The real problem is that the userbase does not appear to be growing right now and people aren’t forming klans to raid. Everyone here already knows what they like to play and what they don’t. Maybe I’m mistaken, but I thought there was a point where there were a few competitive klans and the medals were anything but decided. (view post) |
