Not significantly, as far as I’m aware. Some minor changes like Pick Pocket got changed into Sleight of Hand, Wilderness Lore got scraped etc etc, but the majority of changes were in spells. The latter is my main motivation for not switching to 3.5, really: something about the spells don’t sit right with me for some arcane reason.
With regards to the Paladin, we’ll be running an evil game here, so it’ll probably be Log in to see images! as far as your character is going to be concerned. And that I’ll rather not have. Still, if you like, roll up a new character and you can hop on this happy loveboat.

are you afraid of living art, too? is there something about the gothic, organically incomplete nature of the quote pyramid that scares you? does the knowledge that this is a work that is constantly in the process of becoming make you unable to sleep at night? or is it something more, something deeper that haunts you every time you close your eyes? do you see the darkness fall, and with it the fragile constructs of your ego collapsing away as well?
what scares you, InsertCoins? (view post) |

I concur. Even if it isn’t possible to incorporate it into the orange bar, something on the main character page would be more than helpful. You have no idea how thankful I am that there is maintenance right now because it means I get a clock. Log in to see images! (view post) |

your picture has no hidden symbolism, no hidden “meaning”. it is but a dull reflection of your life, an equally hollow existence devoid of any substance. with its distinct lack of contention or vested purpose, one may only define that picture by what it is not, not what it is. and it is not art. “In prison” means “gear conveniently located in the Evidence Room save what you could secret out with you before they searched and disarmed you”. Let’s just say that as a rogue, I hope you took a couple of ranks in Pickpocket and Pick Lock. (view post) |

Good one, thanks for bringing that up. Greyhawkian deities (i.e. those from the PHB) all around for everyone. Even if you’re not a cleric, you can still have an intimate connection with a god! Log in to see images!
As for the setting per se, there’s nothing really definite. I’ll be using a custom world that I’ll make up as we go along: no point in having a scorching desert to the west when I could just as well make that a freezing tundra with a razor wind cutting through the ice. Timeline is definitely clbumic D&D medieval, though.

Gee, I wonder what could make a rogue end up in prison… Log in to see images!
As an aside, guys, don’t be afraid to come up with interesting crimes for your characters to commit. Your dark, heinous sins can range from something as petty as Grand Theft Carriage to something as steeped in intrigue as “plot to murder the Queen with a shuriken carved out of the heart of a carrot”. Well, maybe not so on the latter, but you get the idea. Just be prepared for the consequences if your notoriety is particularly well-known in the city: for the most part, the campaign will be set in the city. (view post) |

D&D Interest CheckLooks like it’s settled, then. We’ll work on a “normal” game in this here forum. I’ll like to get a four man party started out here, so if the three of you guys are already up for it post up any ideas about your characters that you may already have. For instance, clbum/race choice, sterotypical role in the party etc etc. Anything that you think the other party members would like to know when designing their own characters.
Since no one vehemently objects to it being an evil campaign, as it was written, so shall it be. Alignment choices of LG, CG and NG are now closed to applicants; those already in the queue, please take a new number and rejoin the appropriate queue. However, as mentioned earlier, try to make your evil a little more subtle and intelligent: while I have no problems with a CE Barbarian, I’ll like the party to get along with (not to mention survive) said barbarian before he flips the **** out and kills a party member.
Remember, creative license with the character history, but you’ll all end up in jail. Log in to see images!

I’m not terribly experienced at running a forum game either, so if I make any mistakes be sure to tell me, all ye more experienced nerds. We’ll probably need to establish some posting conventions, like for instance OOC chat and rolls must be in italics while something or another should be in bold. But more on that in the future, once the game gets off.
I like that sort of evil characters. Log in to see images!
EDIT: Also, is this us playing D+D, or is it our characters playing D+D? We’d do very different things.
Good question. That would depend on where we’re going to play the game, of course. In the RP forum it would be our characters (lol emo party), but here it’ll just be plain ol’ us playing it. Cast ye vote! This be a democracy we’re running here! (view post) |

Hey Emo Kids, how about an art contest?genericangstyposter Posted:
what are you so afraid of, genericangstyposter, that you must hide behind such anger and aggression all the time? what do you fear, just beyond the shadow of your life, lurking in the penumbral darkness of your consciousness? do you too sense that void waiting to engulf you? are you afraid of that emptiness, afraid that if you were to name it, it would consume you too?
embrace that fear. it will not leave you now. it will not abandon you like your friends or family would. it would not ignore you after you call it 87 times in an afternoon when all you wanted was to hear her ****ing voice again over the phone while you slit your own wrists. it would not tell you that it’s not you, it’s her, that she needs some ****ing time alone. that blackness in your soul WILL NOT ****ING WANT TO BE JUS TFRIENDS WITH YOU (view post) |
