Clbum Idea: HackerNow now now, it wouldn’t be as broken as it sounds. I think this could actually be pretty funny.
Clbum Name: Hacker Secondary Stat: Skillz Basic Idea: Hackers specialize in abilities which inflict “hacks” on threads and boards. Hacks act like status effects, temporarily messing with the board’s ability to fight back in some way. Types of hacks would include… Spambot: Works like Poison. Enemy board takes a small amount of damage every time they attack you (due to a spam post). Lag: Works like Slow. Enemy board randomly misses turns due to lag. Crash: Works like Sleep. Board won’t attack again until you use an attack or ability (basically, anything not an item) Keylogger: Works like Regen. You gain back a little ego each turn. (This would probably be the Hacker’s only healing ability.) And many more. Note that the hacker’s abilities would be based around inflicting these hacks, not dealing damage directly (‘cept for maybe one or two abilities, like “Brag” or “Take Credit”.) The Hacker deals damage by having a very high, natural Offense stat. Equipment: Cooling Fans (expensive, increase Skillz reserve) and T-Shirts (Increase stats…this could be something else)
Basically…
Strengths: With very high offense and crippling hacks, the hacker can decimate a board in mere moments. Weaknesses: With very low defense and ego, they can be decimated just as easily if caught off-guard. Also, hacks are expensive (in terms of Skillz) and reset when the thread dies, so you can’t just pile on all your hacks for every thread. You’ll have to change it up by situation. Also, their equipment is expensive. (view post) |

Woe Is Us and Emo Kids (may be spoilery)Haha, on a more general level, I like the idea of forums having certain “elemental weaknesses/resistances” as it were to certain types of attacks. That would be a good addition to future versions. (view post) |

Forumbuildr VotingMuch as the current system may be flawed, none of the suggestions here seem any less flawed. I guess we’re going to have to pick between trollable and simply unfair, and given that this is Forumwarz… (view post) |

Episode 2: Would you Pay?I think the best way to get monies from players would be to expand the brownie points system with new and sexy content. Off the top of my head I can think of…
3 Brownie Points = Unregistered Mode (Once you’re out of visits, you can still pwn forums…for no cred or any other benefit.)
Eh? Eh? (view post) |

I, ANALDr_Kraid Posted:
I actually thought about how that would work as a character. All the abilities would be emoticons of the (^_^) (-_-) \(^0^)/ variety, and their secondary stat would be “Ki.” They’d specialize in abilities which manipulate their stats (usually greatly increasing one and dropping another, given the power of emoticons over one’s mood) and would be able to buy wall scrolls and headbands as equipment. Why did you pick the clbum you did?I wanted to play as one of those oversensitive whiners who flies into a berserker rage whenever anything raises his ire on or offline. Emo kid seemed like the closest choice. (view post) |

Clbum-Sensitive Replies?I was writing some angry replies for forumbildr today, and I got to thinking that a neat feature for future implementation would be angry replies which vary based on your clbum. I think this week’s fan-made forum (FAP) is a perfect example of a group of people who’d react to one clbum (Camwhores) very differently from another clbum (Trolls). I submitted one angry reply which, while funny, would really only make sense if you’re playing as a Camwhore, and it got me thinking about how cool it would be to be able to submit clbum-sensitive replies.
This is just an idle idea, but it seems like it would be a fun way to expand the forumbildr experience and give users even more options. Thoughts? (view post) |

Forumbuildr VotingI upvote/downvote all the new forum ideas I see. I vote based on how fun I think they’d be to write posts/topics for. I don’t vote as much for forum content unless something really stands out. (view post) |
