NEW CONTEST: Post your own Crotch Zombifying videos!I’m putting it together. Don’t know when we can get the camera to film – friend has to rent one out from the campus Telecomm department.
I don’t remember a deadline for this contest being posted… (view post) |

C&C Red Alert 3General Romanov Posted:
They should have made Red Alert 2 a different series, since I like the others and think RA2 “kinda sucked” as well as looked “kinda cartoony” compared to the originals. The originals were mainly for hardcore RTS fans, but I dunno what crowd they were aiming at with RA2 – nearly everyone I’ve met who likes it either hasn’t played the originals or aren’t fans.
RA2 & RA3 are more like comic book versions of C&C. Supervillains with mind control trying to take over the world as opposed to militant factions?
RA2 had a lot more units/items that were like “That makes no sense whatsoever, but why the hell not?” Like tank bunkers, infantry grinders, mind-controlled animals, slow-moving yet somehow armored (and still flying!) blimps.
But I still think what bothers me the most is that it fails to tie in to any of the C&C games (including RA1).
EDIT: You probably will like RA3. Hardcore C&C fans have C&C3 to play (and maybe Generals 2 in the future). (view post) |

Internet Delay Chat suggestions. Most of these are obvious, and probably already on a to-do list, but since there is no publicly available to-do list, I’m listing them here. Hope it helps.
– Player list needs to be more compact and only show player icons on mouseover. – The tubmail link should be a small icon next to each player name in the player list. – Clicking the player name should enter into private chat with them/PM them if it’s supported, or go to their profile if it is not. This action should be possible by clicking a name in the chatlog or the player list. – A checkbox for “autoscroll with update” or smarter auto-scroll-to-the-bottom (i.e. don’t scroll when you’re not already at the bottom). – Coloring of usernames. (Pick a random color for each username upon entry to the chatroom, preferably from a preset list of about 50 that loops. This way it will be much easier to distinguish who is talking.) – Username highlighting – if someone says a username in the text, it should highlight it the color of the person to attract their attention. – Moderation system. Tied in with this, it would be nice to have the ability to kick or mute a person for like 5 minutes through a channel-wide vote. After 2 successful mute/ignores it should increase the timelimit. – Ignore/mute system. Also it would be neat if you could somehow highlight entries from a user to make them stand out, like the opposite of ignore. – Emote (/me) system. – Emote icon selection menu. – Potential support for randomized text, like forumbuildr entries (at least for the roleplaying forums). sTalk FriendsDante Kinkade Posted:
Yeah. I would rather use sTalk for contacting in-game people realtime for the same reason I’d rather use tubmail for messages than my real e-mail. It keeps it in-game, I don’t have to give out my real info unless I want to, etc. etc.
Like I said, it adds to immersion.
It shouldn’t be too hard to implement now that they’ve got IDC up and running.
EDIT: Added quotes I could find about sTalking other players. Kelp Plankton Posted:

Style VotingYou shouldn’t be able to vote on a style unless you preview it.
Please remove the ability to vote on styles on the style listing page (but not from the preview style page). (view post) |

It would seriously add to the immersion factor. I think it could be worth it, but it would probably be something you’d have to pay for. For instance, if Episode 2 (or 3?) isn’t free, it could be a bonus of purchasing it.

It would be nice if you could sTalk with people on your friends list, or be able to add people to your sTalk to chat.
Good luck programming that, though. (view post) |

Grandchase.net Banner AdsThe banner advertisements from Grandchase.net make my computer run extremely slow. These are the ones that are heavily animated and show panels of small characters being opened and closed and changed (from what I can tell). They are primarily black and red in color.
Firefox nearly locks up, and I have trouble switching between tabs.
It’s bad enough when there’s one on a page, but usually there are two or three displaying at a time.
Is there any way these could either be toned down or removed in favor of other advertisements? I have no idea what they’re advertising, but the way they’re sabotaging my browser, I’m not sure I want to know.
I’d rather not spend brownie points just because one advertisement screws up my computer. I don’t mind the others, and in fact, have been interested in a few of them.
Anyone else had problems like this? (view post) |

How we plan to improve ForumBuildr!SuperPsyche Posted:
I’ve submitted a few suggestions like this.
Two-Phase Forumbuildr Voting (Thread)
24-Hour Submission Minimum Lifetime (Thread)
To be fair, gdap basically posted the idea for the last one here, which I quoted in my post. This was after my suggestion for two-phase voting, but it’s a lot simpler. (view post) |

Submitting enemy names is useless now?Klanless, and I won last week’s logo contest. Prior to that I won two style submissions.
I most likely would have won last week’s, but I submitted a tad bit too late (someone submitted a similar one right before mine), and I failed to mention the fact that my usernames were all spiffy and highlighted on mouseover in the style title.
I probably could have won YouBoob’s too, but I didn’t submit my style until about Friday and it wasn’t able to accumulate votes fast enough to beat the prior winner, despite looking a heck of a lot better, IMO.
I don’t think there’s a lot of Klan voting going on (if any), but sometimes one of the losing or new entries will jump ahead by like 200% of the previous winner’s score when it doesn’t look any better than the previous entries. That always confuses me. (view post) |
